Lee Iglody has significant experience in corporate law and finance. As a founding member of the board who was tasked with compliance, he invested the time and effort necessary to master the laws and regulations that apply to Charter Schools. In addition to his study of the law and regulations, he honed his operational and governance knowledge by attending conferences and spending hours in one-on-one meetings with other charter school administrators and board members, as well as the helpful SPCSA staff. Demonstrating his commitment to achieving the highest standard of governance, he has joined the CSAN board of trustees and is an active member in its planning group. An avid supporter of school choice and the advancement of educational excellence for all students, he is in regular communication with national and local charter school advocacy and educational groups.
Jonathan Gardner is the Director of Strategic Sourcing at Resorts World Las Vegas managing the sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and procurement compliance in Facilities, Security, Hotel Operations, and IT spend categories, and previously held this position at Caesars Entertainment. Passionate about education, Jonathan was a part-time/adjunct instructor at The College of Southern Nevada for ten years and at other institutions previously. Jonathan is an MBA and has a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics with an Emphasis in Actuarial Science and a Minor in Mathematics. As the APA-LV Board Treasurer, Jonathan oversees financial management and procurement compliance for the school. He and his wife, Sara, have three children attending APA-Las Vegas.
Ernie Elliott has served on the board since 2017. He has earned a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in English from BYU-Idaho, a Secondary Education teaching certificate, Masters in Education Administration (M.Ed.) at Grand Canyon University, as well as a Masters degree in Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) from UNLV. He taught English in the public education system for four years before entering the business side of healthcare. He is married and has 3 sons. He, his wife, and his children have been actively involved in APA-Las Vegas since it first opened.
Melissa St Jean grew up in New York, Canada and Alabama. She has lived in Las Vegas for the past 11 years and works as a Director in Healthcare serving our community’s geriatric population. Prior to her healthcare career, Melissa worked as a Victim Advocate at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Center and as a Child Protection Social Worker in England. She graduated with a Masters in Social Work, an Advanced Certificate in Conflict Resolution, Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Management from Syracuse University. Melissa has 2 children, her eldest attends Amplus Academy. She enjoys skiing, hiking, and traveling.
Candyce Farthing has served the educational community for the last 18 years in various roles in both Oregon and Nevada. She has spent the past 12 years in various leadership positions in the field of education holding positions such as Superintendent, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, Academics and Accountability Director, and Principal. Prior to pursuing leadership roles, Candyce spent time as a middle school teacher and reading specialist.
As a parent of two school-aged children, Candyce has witnessed from the parent perspective the importance of ensuring that every student is being challenged to reach new heights in their educational pursuits. As a school leader, Candyce has helped steer charter school expansion and growth in both Oregon and Nevada and brings that experience along with her in her current role as a school board member.
Candyce holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from George Fox University, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from George Fox University, and Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University, which demonstrates her belief that education is a community endeavor.
In her free time, Candyce loves to read, play with her children, and spend time on the lake with her family.
