IMPORTANT AMPLUS UPDATES!

Hello Amplus Families,

We hope you all enjoyed your fall break and celebrated Nevada Day with your friends and family.  Please read this ENTIRE email as many parts will apply to all students.

Monday, November 9th

  • Start of Quarter 2 for ALL students
    • Clever Portal:We will be initiating a new extension through the Chrome browser that will help manage all of the student learning platforms (Actively Learn, Achieve 3000, Smarty Ants, Khan Academy, MAP Accelerator, etc). Clever will simplify the access and password management, making it easier for students to log on to their various accounts.
    • New school schedule starts for grades K-3. 8:00am start time begins.Schedules will vary based on grade levels. New classroom schedules are attached, can be found on our website, found on the teacher’s Google Classroom, and will be available for pick up from the main office.
    • K-3 begin hybrid learning model.The teachers will “soft launch” K-3 hybrid learning model on Monday and Tuesday, with all students attending from home while following the new schedule (8:00am start time).  Starting on  Thursday, November 12th, students will attend on campus or at home, depending on the assigned cohort. (All K-3 families will be getting an email confirming their cohort placement later this week).
      • Cohort A: ONLINE ONLY
      • Cohort B: Monday/Thursday On Campus Instruction (Tuesday/Friday at home distance ed)
      • Cohort C: Tuesday/Friday On Campus Instruction (Monday/Thursday at home distance ed)
      • Cohort D: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday On Campus Instruction, (By Invitation Only-this includes any students currently attending campus)

 

    • K-3 Carpool:All K-3 students attending on campus will be assigned a carpool color and time. (Carpool is the name for our pick-up/drop-off procedures.) Carpool tags will be provided to all families attending on campus and will be required in order to pick up students.  Carpool tags can be picked up from the main office starting Thursday, November 5th. Carpool maps and information can also be found on our website.

  • Safety Procedures:Of course, the safety of our staff and students are our top priority. All preparations and mitigation efforts are being carefully considered.  Expectations and details will be included in the cohort specific email going to all K-3 families.

November 2 – November 13

  • Operation Gratitude Drive:We will be collecting a variety of items to send to veterans overseas.  Collection bins will be located outside the main entrance to the school for the following items:
    • b) Halloween Candy: Donate your extra Halloween Candy! Operation Gratitude will pair it with thank you cards and other items to create care packages to send to deployed troops.
    • c) Other small items you think would be enjoyable while on deployment: gum, cards, small snacks, anything you think would be useful in a care package!

November 18

  • Senior Picture Day:9:00am – 12:00pm in the elementary atrium.

  • Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences will be held virtually this year.  Please look for the sign up genius coming from the teachers to select a meeting time.

Thank you families, for all of your continued support and patience.  Our teachers and support staff are working hard to address the needs of all students and families.  We look forward to this new adventure of hybrid learning for our K-3 population and are hopeful for the return of more students as we get into the new year.
