Hello APA Families and Parents,
We are aware that there is a lot of information out there regarding the status of our school as we are going through this transition of now being a self managed school.
On June 11 the Governing Board voted to not renew its contract with the educational management organization. On June 26 our state authorizer, the State Public Charter School Authority, unanimously approved this separation.
The Governing Board, your original administration team, and our transition task force created by the board, are all working closely with former State Superintendent Steve Canavero, and his WestEd team, as well with Dr. Brian Carpenter, a nationally recognized charter school expert and award winning charter school leader, in assuring the success of our school.
Our Governing School Board has taken informed and decisive action at improving the quality of our academic program and allowing our school’s potential to increase above what we have already created. More importantly we are working hard with these experts at making sure that Nevada Standards are prevalent throughout our already rigorous curriculum.
